Tierra Shannon

LMSW (She/Her)
  1. Tierra Shannon loves stories. The beauty in the human experience is that we might all understand happiness and love and excitement, grief and anger and sadness, from simply sharing our lives. With 13 siblings, she has worked with youth her whole life in nonprofits, community health centers, and schools. She works with youth because of their resilience, their potential, their honesty and humor. She works with people because she believes every one of their stories are important. Tierra caters to the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ population. She has experience working with women, children and adolescents.

Tierra attended the University of Michigan where she majored in English Literature and has master’s degrees in Social Work and Women’s and Gender Studies from Southern Connecticut State University. She is a licensed master social worker, pushing toward independent clinical licensing. She specializes in various approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative and family therapy. Outside of social work, she works in local public libraries surrounded by stories.

Tierra is committed to trauma-informed, strength-based inclusive care. She will listen, support and challenge you through your story. It begins here and ends in a healthier you.
